This was an excellent choice. The room was great; the staff very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet. My major complaint is that none of the lamps in the room were bright enough to read the newspaper. The only place with a bright light for reading was to sit on the toilet!!! Well, I do that at home, but for the price I expected more light by the bed. It is a small problem, but for those who might want to work at the desk, more light is necessary! I recommend the place, tho....jess take your own 150 watt bulb...and enjoy!

Hotel is in a great location, right in the heart of Pittsburgh. Park your car in a near by lot and there are plenty of restaurants and sites with in easy walking distance. The hotel is doing a little remodeling, so the main bar and restaurant were closed, but they had back up available. Great staff, very attentive to your needs. Would definetly go back to this hotel!

This is a Good hotel not a Great hotel. Next time I'll try the Omni. This is a nice hotel, as close to the river as you can get. The river has a great running trail on both sides. It's Marriott's older style decor, meaning no flat screens and the desk and TV are not conducive to working while watching TV. The club lounge is pretty middle of the road for Marriott club lounges. The gym is medium sized for a hotel gym and has everything necessary for a good workout; weight machine, dumbbells, treadmills and ellipticals. The hotel also has access to a Golds Gym that is supposed to be close by (there may be a fee). The downside is the restaurant. I've never seen it busy, and there's a reason for that. Bad $3 coffee and burned toast marked my experience. The chef apparently thought black toast was Ok to serve. The beds are Ok. I think these are still the older Marriott beds, which are not as comfortable as the new ones.

I came with a friend in early January and the stay at the hotel was amazing. Great room, valet, guest services, restaurant and location. It was an easy walk to the T and the theater. This hotel made you feel as though you were someone special!

I stayed at the Renaissance on business and it was one of my best hotel experiences in recent memory. The staff bent over backwards to make sure I had a nice stay. My room was gorgeous and perfectly appointed for the business traveller. My only complaint is that it was so lovely, that I hated to leave it to go to meetings.
